• Description: This class will provide a historical survey of Buddhism from its origins in India through its diffusion throughout Asia and the world in subsequent centuries. It also emphasizes on the practices (ritual, meditation, and ethics) and social groundings (including individual roles and institutional structures) as well as the doctrinal debates.
